Roccella Jonica and its Serenity
A sedated town on the coast, Roccella Jonica is well known for their annual international Jazz Festival held usually in August.
September is perhaps the quiescent period for the state, the pristine waters and beaches of white seemed untouched, the streets appear relatively barren during the period of my stay. Apart from the buzz of cars cruising down the highways, occasional cling-clangs from the homes in the proximity, the silence can be surprisingly audible in the day.
A town of archaeological interest and significant historical value, most of the buildings display a relatively Spartan taste, with some still carrying architectural features from the medieval days.
